HORSE RIDE IN THE CENTRAL RHODOPES
A two- or three- day trip

First day: Start from the stables in the village of Trigrad at 9 o clock a.m.About 3 hours ride  through the maiden  woods of the Shabanica preserve, at the  foot of  the legendary  Kaur Chan peak, to the picturesque place  Chairi lakes.The name comes after  the 7 natural landslide lakes, formed by the slipping  down  glaciers  during  the Glacial Period. The lakes are amazingly beautiful, with crystal  Rhodopean water and mountain trout. They are  surrounded by  over  2000 dka of endless meadows, abound  in numerous Thracian  sanctuaries and mounds,which  testify that this is the land of Tracians.
The Chairi cottage is situated near one of the lakes .It has 3 dooble –bed rooms, 2 bathrooms,a dinning –room with  a fireplace  and a kitchen. After arrival- a short lunch-break on the verandah or by  the fireplace in  the dinning-room. A 2 – hour ride in the afternoon round the lakes and through the meadows. Fishing at the lakes. An afternoon cup of coffee or tea with the traditional local Rhodopean  cheese-cake /klin/. Free time till dinner.
Second day: After breakfast- a ride  through Kesten village ,situated at the  very  border  with Greece  to the stables  in Trigrad. Lunch at the local inn.
